Ross Alexander

Director of Operational Services


Ross is responsible for supporting the operational and financial success of SMP managed surgery centers. He provides analytical and administrative support to SMP facilities, as well as supporting new development projects and other strategic initiatives for SMP.

Ross’s entire career has been in health care and includes financial, operational, and leadership responsibilities. He worked for a health system in financial analysis and business development roles. Ross then transitioned to the ASC industry and led three surgery centers over 15 years: two multi-specialty and one orthopedic. Ross has managed successful JCAHO, AAAHC, state and federal survey results. He was responsible for implementing the first ASC based Mako robotic total joint program in the state of Colorado. Ross holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and an MBA from Colorado State University, as well as the Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) credential. Ross is experienced working with hospital partners, physicians, facility staff and management companies improving operations to provide high-quality cost-effective care. Ross served on the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Association Board of Directors for several years and hosted ASC visits for a United States Congressman and Senator helping to spread the word about the value that ASCs bring to the health care system.
